Key approaches for determining the role of patent analytics in innovation management

The article analyzes the approaches to determining the role and place of research of patent information in the organization's innovation management system, cited in the works of Russian and foreign authors. Author has developed two key approaches to understanding the tasks of patent analytics in the process of organizing innovative activities in a modern innovative company — product and methodological approaches. The product approach is based on the ideas of patent analytics as a service solution for organizing and stimulating innovations in the format of patent landscapes. The methodological approach provides for the creation of a scientific basis for patent research
