Mentor© — interactive technology for control of the lecture material learning

The new approach in a teaching technique based on interaction between a lecturer and each student in a lecture room with use of an online-application is developed in BSTU «Voenmekh». The Mentor© software provides instant personal testing of all audience directly during the lecture to control attention and to analyze learning of the material by students. The software allows the teacher to give an impartial grade to each student with the minimum time expenses and to provide objectivity for holding tests and exams. In this article we present basic principles of the project and structure of Mentor© software and consider our experience of using this approach during three semesters. Further expansion of this software functions, the method capabilities for distance learning, and development of state standards for teaching disciplines are also discussed.
