The article describes the reasons for the growing interest. From the international community to the Arctic, describes the largest Russian projects for the development of the Arctic zone, the role of St. Petersburg in the development of the Arctic. In conclusion, a number of proposals are proposed to strengthen the role of St. Petersburg in the development of the Arctic
