Russia and Germany: Cooperation under sanctions
In St. Petersburg hosted the annual "Week of Germany", which is held since 2003 on the initiative of the Consulate General of Germany, the Goethe Institute in St. Petersburg and North-West Branch of the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce. His contribution to this major event made more than fifty German organizations, businesses and institutions, including the German Academic Exchange Service, the Fund Garth Hamburg club, the German School in St. Petersburg, Center for German and European Studies, German-Russian Center and many meetings others. "Week" was held with the assistance of the Plenipotentiary Representative of RF President in the North-West Federal District, St. Petersburg Scientific Center of Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Regional Economy of RAS, the National Research University - Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg. This year, despite the difficult political and economic conditions, took about 70 events, was presented to a number of conferences, seminars and various information meetings, round tables with participation of Russian and German scientists, economists, representatives of the business elite, industry, banking, culture and art. Parterre 12 "Week of Germany" was made Saxony with which St. Petersburg has long term business relationship. As in previous years, was offered a versatile program in such areas as economy, education, culture, language, and social, legal and political issues. Representatives of business and industry visited production sites of companies "YIT", "Siemens technology gas turbines», OOO «BSH", discussed the opportunities and challenges of business localization in the debate on "Localization in Russia - opportunities for German companies." At the initiative of representatives of the Department for the Economy Saxony held economic forum "Innovative manufacturing technologies for mechanical engineering" and a round table on "import substitution and localization of production."
