Concept of competences and competence-performance models in the context of innovation development

In the innovation economy a key factor for the success of a company in the market is competences of its employees. The paper clarifies the concept of competences through their main characteristics. It is proved that for the strategy of innovation development the most significant competences are those based on an achievement motive.
