Drivers of economic development: university science or industrial companies?
Despite a significant increase in the budget sector funding of university research in the Russian Federation for the period from2002 to 2014. His contribution to the modernization of industry and development of new technological level remains low.The article presents the factual data showing that a key role in the modernization of existing industrial facilities and the initiation of a new technological level of production in industrialized countries do not play universities and national industries. On the example of the Ulyanovsk region shows that the regional industrial sector is not interested in the development of universities in the region made their own initiative, and not a customer of research and development for the modernization and development of new industries.
