Seventh techno-economic paradigm: human and machine representations

The research is focused on the formation of ideas about the seventh techno-economic paradigm — a fundamentally new stage of development of science and technology, the beginning of which is expected within the next decades. Scientific articles in various scientific fields, particularly in the field of scientific foresight, were used as a basis for the hypotheses about the development of the seventh techno-economic paradigm. The findings were grouped into two main scenarios for the development of the seventh techno-economic paradigm. An alternative scenario was the representation generated by the GPT-4 artificial neural network — its use is due to the ability to generate texts based on a surface analysis of open sources of information provided by the artificial neural network. To validate the results provided by the neural network, a simplified Turing test was conducted on 116 respondents, which revealed a low degree of difference between human and machine representations of the seventh techno-economic paradigm. As a result of this study, the paper summarizes three main scenarios of the seventh technological mode: transhumanist paradigm, ecological paradigm (both formed by the analytical group), and intelligent machine paradigm (formed by the neural network). Based on this study, a conclusion is made about the possible prospectivity of research in these areas. It is noted that the mentioned directions of science and technology development are hypothetical and will not necessarily represent the real seventh techno-economic paradigm.

Keywords: techno-economic paradigm, scientific foresight, futurology, transhumanism, ecology, intelligent machines, artificial intelligence, artificial neural network.
