Current state and trends in the transfer of promising technologies based on analytics of Gartner experts

The authors of the article study promising technological directions for organizing the process of technology transfer. This article discusses the key technology trends for 2024 as identified by the research company Gartner. The presented technological trends serve as a basis for analyzing patent activity in such areas as: artificial intelligence, sustainable technologies, cybersecurity and platform engineering. It proposed to consider the dynamics of patent activity based on queries in patent search database for 2014-2024. The analysis made it possible to draw conclusions about which trends are sustainable and ongoing development trends, and which are only recommendations for the direction of development. In addition to global patenting within the considered areas of technological development according to Gartner analytics, the rating of companies by the number of valid patents of the Russian Federation for inventions, utility models and industrial designs related to digital technologies presented. According to this rating, it revealed in which areas, which correspond to the proposed technological trends, technologies are developing in Russia. Thus, the conclusion about the revealed relationship between patent activity and technological trends identified by Gartner analysts substantiated. These two factors influence each other, as technological trends can stimulate patent activity, and patent applications, in turn, can indicate new technological trends.
