Analysis of patent activity statistics in the Russian Federation in 2018-2022
The article presents an analysis of patent activity in the Russian Federation for 2018-2022. The analysis was performed on the basis of open data published by FIIP (Federal Institute of Industrial Property) until October 2022. The purpose of this work was to determine the dynamics of patent activity by different types of applicants (government institutions, educational and scientific institutions, commercial organizations, individuals), to identify leaders in patenting. The analysis was carried out only in relation to patents for inventions. The following facts have been revealed: a significant decrease in the number of patents filed by both Russian and foreign applicants; a significant number of patents that are not kept in force; low level of registered disposals of intellectual rights.
