The article discusses the technologies used in the development of physical and virtual training complexes, as well as the basic principles for creating
interactive educational animated digital twins of technological installations. Examples of the use of visual computer models of various technological objects in
the educational process for improving the skills of specialists in the oil and gas industry are given. The effectiveness of the use of virtual simulators and digital
twins of technological objects in full-time and online training is analyzed. It is shown that the use of computer models of technological objects contributes
to a better assimilation of the theoretical foundations of the processes of various classes, and can also act as a means of controlling students' knowledge.
