Analysis of the scientific and technical progress directions evolution, terminology, assessing the quality of products and activities by instrument-making companies

Based on the cybernetic approach, the present paper considers modern views on the evolution of scientific and technical progress, terminology and criteria for assessing the quality of activities and products of instrument-making companies. Further it describes the authors’ approach to four directions that characterize the evolution of scientific and technical progress in many areas of human activity, including business processes (organizational and technological processes) of instrument-making companies: mechanization, automation, intellectualization and robotization. A modern assessment of the criteria for the quality of activities and products is given. The present paper evaluates evolutionary changes in terminology and interpretation of concepts and terms in the context of two types of modern worldview: engineering and technical on the one hand and humanitarian and economic on the other

Keywords: scientific and technological progress, cybernetics, informatics, cybernetic approach, mechanization, automation, intellectualization, robotization, integrated automation, digitalization.
