Man in space. In tribute to the 60th anniversary of the Yuri Gagarin’s flight

April 2021 marks the 60th anniversary of the first manned space flight. This event literally turned the course of history upside down; it had impact on all spheres of human activity: politics, economics, science, technology, culture. The article summarizes the main results of manned astronautics over the past six decades. The analysis of the leading spacefaring nations’ activities in this area is carried out. Statistical data on human activities in space are presented. The forecast for the development of manned astronautics for the next decade is given
