The National Technology Initiative (NTI) development: «Virtual aerodynamic test bed for testing unmanned aerial vehicles» project

The article is devoted to the stages of development and implementation of an innovative projectt — a virtual aerodynamic test bed for testing digital prototypes of unmanned aerial vehicles in a wide range of realistic environmental conditions and flight scenarios. The bed is designed: to simulate aerodynamic influences on projected aircraft and allows to reduce the number of field tests by more than 90%; to improve the quality of products to the world class level; to reduce costs and to shorten «time to market» stage; to significantly increase labor productivity. The technology developed will be applied in unmanned aircraft. The challenge of the project is the development of software solutions that provide a high-level automation of the tasks of determining the UAV aerodynamic characteristics
