On forecasting the development of science as the problem of weak artificial intelligence (conceptual approach)

There are numerous approaches to the forecast of promising areas of science, which are based on expert, mathematical, statistical, imitation methods, and also on various heuristics. It is shown that this problem does not have clear decision algorithms and, therefore, relates to the problems of artificial intelligence. A conceptual approach to solving problems of this class using artificial intelligence methods is proposed

Keywords: fundamental science, fundamental and exploratory research, forecast of science development, longterm forecast, strategic planning, expert forecasting
