Private astronautics: trends and prospects
The birth and development of the private astronautics is one of the basic and probably the most interesting trend in the modern era. Causes of its appearance and such rapid development were: first, changes in geopolitical environment, secondly, formation of new relationships in the world economy, thirdly, explosive information revolution. Moreover one cannot also forget about the role of personality. Due largely to the appearance of such people as Elon Musk, Richard Branson, Robert Bigelow private astronautics was born and gained powerful impetus for further development. Analysis, that authors conducted, shows that private astronautics emerged in the very early 1990s, and after decade of sluggish growth it powerfully bursted into the world space arena becoming a fully-fledged player. Currently private astronautics is a part of humanity’s space activities. And its role in space exploration should increase repeatedly in the near future
