Diffusion of New Energy Technologies: International Standardization as a Tool to Reduce Non-Technical Barriers

In this paper the patterns of development of the cluster core technology of wind power as one of the most mature industries of alternative energy are examined based on theoretical analysis and empirical evidence. Particular attention is paid to international standardization as a tool to reduce technical and socio-economic barriers to the diffusion of new technologies. The hypothesis of Grubler-Fetisov on the nature of the growth performance of the cluster core technology wind energy industry is proved based on the analysis of empirical data
