Analysis of the possibilities of using modern geographic information systems automated monitoring of the state of forest areas in the interests of the development of forestry in Russia

The article proposes a generalized analysis of the use of modern geoinformation systems for automated monitoring of changes in forest areas in a particular area in the interests of the progressive development of the Russian forestry. Since the change in the state of forest tracts is due to a whole range of different factors, and largely determines the environmental situation in most constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the task of continuous operational monitoring of these changes is currently very relevant and in demand.
