The Diffusion of New Technologies in Russia
Quite a substantial set of statistical data on innovation activities in Russia has been accumulated during the last years. This data is not perfect, but still it reflects the development trends and proportions of innovations in Russia. Western scholars often research relations between the structural components of national innovation systems. This interest is as stronger as it is difficult to estimate on the macrolevel the causes and outcomes of relations which are formed on the level of sectors, techologic complexes, government departments, regions, and thus to accommodate some controversial business and political interests. In our paper we analyse technologic innovations in Russia by sector, based on one of the key characteristics of cross-sectoral innovation balance - the ratio of product and process innovations, which in disbalance impedes the innovative development of the economy.
