Ranking of Universities as a Tool in Competitive World Education Market

This article describes and analyzes the basic methodology of establishing international rankings QS World University Ranking and the World University Rankings. Also in the paper analyzes the system of ranking Russian universities and identified priority areas for the development of universities in the need to increase the international prestige of the Russian higher education, as well as to improve competitiveness and to enter the international ratings.
