The article is devoted to the implementation of the effective labor contract for researchers of universities. Regulations and instruments governing the employment relationship with employees of universities are analyzed. A tentative list of indicators and criteria for evaluating the scientist’s productivity for the assignment of incentive payments is offered. Some examples of incentive payments based on the results of labor are considered. Amendments to the form of the employment contract, tailored to the scientific activity are proposed.
