Competence Centres - the Progressive Form for Organization of Innovation Activity

Recently, specific structures of high professional services called competence centres begin to appear in high-technology branches. The paper discusses the main features of centres of competence as structures aimed at an active search, transfer and accumulation of new knowledge and unique experience, as well as their classification. The main industry problems solved within competence centres are systematized. An author’s experience in the design of university centres of competence, including the concept principles of design and analysis of the major difficulties encountered in the process of creating these structures, is given in the article.
